How Can we follow The Great Commission?

The Great Commission - Matthew Chapter 28 18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. All power is given to Jesus (God) so why isn't life easier for His followers? Let's start with that question. We follow Jesus, we love Him, we believe in Him. We try to do what He taught us to do, so if He loves us and He has all power, why is life so difficult? I have been going through some difficult times lately - well, actually - for a few years now. They are personal, financial, family, and medical and all together, they have beat me down so that some days I don't even feel like getting dressed. Do I ask "Why, Lord?"...

Discernment, what is it and do you have it?

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. 1 John 4:1 What is discernment and do you have it? 1 . the ability to judge well. "He had an astonishing lack of discernment" 2 . (in Christian contexts) perception in the absence of judgment with a view to obtaining spiritual direction and understanding. "without providing for a time of healing and discernment, there will be no hope of living through this present moment without a shattering of our common life" I think the Christian definition above is complicated. Discernment is when God's Holy Spirit speaks to your heart and tells you something is right or wrong, and the key is the absence of judgment. A new person shows up at work and we may feel that something is off about this person. Without judgement, but with the kindness that come...

Just an Average Day of little Motivation

Happy Day, Today is Wednesday and Wednesdays are usually my day for picking songs for Sunday service, sending messages to the song team, practicing the piano, etc. But today I'm having difficulty getting motivated. Do you ever feel that way? What is it that motivates us or de-motivates us? Believers in Christ or not, we all have days when we just don't care about anything or anybody. We just want to be left alone. But why? And how do we get out of that besides drinking a 5 Hour energy drink (which I have already done today). Let's go to God's word and see what He says about it. Did you know you can google "what does the bible say about___________" and put in any subject and look under Bible Hub for a bunch of scriptures? Or go directly to Biblehub. Here are just a few of what God has to say about the lack of motivation. First - I always wonder why am I so unmotivated? And God says... Trust in the Lord with all your heart...
