God Keeps His Promises

By which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire. 1 Peter 1:4

There are 5467 promises of God in the bible for us.  Many of His promises were about the birth of Jesus and His death and resurrection.  These promises were all fulfilled.  Many of His promises are for us, so that we know His loving care and commitment to bringing everyone to salvation through Christ.

There are promises about the gift of the Holy Spirit to the Apostles, the fullness of life, eternal life, the forgiveness of sins, peace, joy, and many more.  Any time we are struggling or just want a promise to hang on to, we can look them up in  God's word.  In today's world, all we have to do is Google our question.  It couldn't be easier to know the promises of God.

Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit, bringing holiness to completion in the fear of God.
2 Corinthians 7:1

God promises to be with us at all times and in every place, even when we are doing the wrong things.  He speaks His promises to our hearts.  He talks to us through our consciences.  He leads us through situations.  We need to listen to the promises of God.
When someone promises something, we expect it will be done.  We count it as if it is already completed because it was promised.  God never goes back on His promises.  What He has said, we can count as completed.
He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:29-31
So many of God's promises were made directly to us and given to let us know that He will help us. He will strengthen us.  He wants us to know how much He loves us and that even though we live in a sinful world, we do not need to be afraid.

This world is evil and it is very difficult to live as a follower of Christ in a sinful world, but God is working out His plan to bring us all back into relationship with Him.  Evil will not win.  God has promised.
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23
Our only responsibilities are to love God, confess our sins, and follow Christ.  God promises eternal life and we don't have to die on a cross to receive it, even though we deserve to.  Living
life knowing the promises of God and that He never fails in keeping them gives us such peace and confidence.  It is more than we could ever imagine and continues through good times and bad. We can rejoice when others can't.  We can stand when others would fall.
“And now I am about to go the way of all the earth, and you know in your hearts and souls, all of you, that not one word has failed of all the good things that the Lord your God promised concerning you. All have come to pass for you; not one of them has failed. Joshua 23:14
Whatever we may be going through, we can look up the promises of God concerning it.  We will find comfort, love, and peace.  When God promises something, He keeps His word.  We can count on it.
